5 Important Rules in Website Design

High Impact Mini Site- Website Design

When someone comes to your website, extra attention should be paid to every minute detail to make sure it performs optimally to serve its purpose. Here are seven important rules of thumb to observe to make sure your website performs well.

1) Do not use splash pages :

Splash pages are the first pages you see when you arrive at a website. They normally have a very beautiful image with words like "welcome" or "click here to enter". In fact, they are just that -- pretty vases with no real purpose. Do not let your visitors have a reason to click on the "back" button! Give them the value of your site up front without the splash page.

2) Do not use excessive banner advertisements
Even the least net savvy people have trained themselves to ignore banner advertisements so you will be wasting valuable website real estate. Instead, provide more valueable content and weave relevant affiliate links into your content, and let your visitors feel that they want to buy instead of being pushed to buy.

3) Have a simple and clear navigation You have to provide a simple and very straightforward navigation menu so that even a young child will know how to use it. Stay away from complicated Flash based menus or multi-tiered dropdown menus. If your visitors don't know how to navigate, they will leave your site.

4) Have a clear indication of where the user is When visitors are deeply engrossed in browsing your site, you will want to make sure they know which part of the site they are in at that moment. That way, they will be able to browse relevant information or navigate to any section of the site easily. Don't confuse your visitors because confusion means "abandon ship"!

5) Avoid using audio on your site. If your visitor is going to stay a long time at your site, reading your content, you will want to make sure they're not annoyed by some audio looping on and on on your website. If you insist on adding audio, make sure they have some control over it -- volume or muting controls would work fine.

The Importance of A Good Design

High Impact Mini Site- Website Design will tell you about this :

Your website is the hub of your online business; it is the virtual representation of your company whether your company exists physically or not. When you are doing business online, people cannot see you physically like how they could if they were dealing with an offline company. Hence, people do judge you by your covers. This is where a good design comes in.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Imagine if you are running an offline company. Would you allow your salespersons to be dressed in shabby or casual clothes when they are dealing with your customers? By making your staff wear professionally, you are telling your customers that you do care about quality. This works simply because first http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifimpressions matter.

Similarly, the same case is with your website. If your website is put together shabbily and looks like a 5 minute "quick fix", you are literally shouting to your visitors that you are not professional and you do not care for quality.

On the opposite, if you have a totally professional looking website layouhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gift, you are giving your visitors the perception that you have given meticulous attention to every detail and you care about professionalism. You are organised, focused and you really mean business.

On the other hand, you should also have anything related to your company well designed. From business cards to letterheads to promotional brochures, every little bit matters. This is because as you grow your business, these items become the face of your business. Once again, think of the salesperson dressed shabbily anology, and you will get my point.

How To Set Up Your Mini Site For Success

This is done by having a quality sales letter that will persuade your visitors to become buyers and long term customers. The quality of your product and in this case your sales copy will determine the trust your visitors will develop for you and your expertise.

First of all you will need a domain name and a hosting company. One of the greatest and most affordable hosting companies is bluehost.com. There you will get a free domain and you can add five more domains to one hosting account. Their support system is absolutely extraordinary.

Your domain name should be keyword related to the product you are selling. This is important because you want to have the highest rankings in search engines as possible.

To write a killer sales letter you can go to ezinearticles.com and browse through their articles with that particular topic. You can also find companies that will write a powerful sales letter for you.

Also you need some graphics to spice up your sales page. A plain sales letter without any graphics will bore your visitors. They won’t even start reading your sales copy if it is too plain.

You want to sustain the eye of your visitors so they keep reading until they push the order button. Your product needs to be presented in a professional way. It will need to be graphically represented with an eCover.

The last thing you need to do is get some traffic to your mini site. This is for many people the hardest part. But they shouldn’t feel that way.

There is a great way to promote your mini site for free. It is called article marketing. Go to ezinearticles.com and browse their available articles for information on how to generate traffic and promote your product through article marketing.

When all this is done the right way and your product is ready to take off, it’s not going to take much time to rake in some massive profits.

DIY Minisites Review

By Nezrul Hisyam Abdul Ghani

It was 6 months ago when I decided to go online seriously. Despite many recommendation from peers and loved ones, my mind was made up. I want to go online and I want to do it full fledge. And that day, my journey begin. Little that I know that I will get my hand on one of the most informative, comprehensive, and easy to follow DIY Minisitesvideo tutorial.

The tutorials consist of a few components: 4 Volumes; 83 videos, 20 minisites templates, and minisites success stories from people like Bill Hibler. Since I'm getting all these resources for free,my minisite building effort took off with a good start--and less costly too.

The video tutorial featured the author; Kiddino or Iszuddin Ismail. The quality of the video, recorded using Camtasia was of excellent quality. No blurry images, no distorted sound whatsoever.

The author, being a Malaysian, talk in an easy to understand English. Jargon and technical stuff, words, and definition were kept to the minimum which makes Newbie like me appreciate the video tutorial even more. And once I've done watching all the video, the implementation was even easier. Thanks to accompanied WYSIWYG web editor and 20 free web templates.

But still, I have a 'bugging' question, "What should I used this webpage for?"

Guess what; the answer can be found in the success stories.

The author had gone the extra mile to compile a collection of inspiring success stories from ordinary folks who got started with minisites and tackle gigantic, extra-ordinary task for example building massive mailing from zero...with the help of minisites of course.

The stories also included how other online marketers (some of them are our own locals like Gobala Krishnan and the author himself, Kiddino) utilize the power of minisite to
make profit. The stories were all in PDF files which allow easy download and reading.

In short, after deciding to start my online journey, getting my hands on the video tutorial was the next best thing that happened to my online journey. I would not have wish otherwise.

Get the whole scoop of DIY Minisites by visiting http://diyminisitereview.blogspot.com and Nezrul Hisyam speaks his mind extensively at http://www.karungwang.com which tell the stories of his online marketing journey

Using Minisites to Sell Your Products

By Iain Buchanan

When you're looking to market products online, there are several types of website you can setup - if you've got a large catalogue of products (say t-shirts), you might setup a traditional shopping cart style of site using OSCommerce or other such scripts.

If you're setting up a website for a train company, you'd probably setup an informational site giving train timetables, customer travel information, current railway issues, corporate information, etc.

You might setup a blog to relay an individual's (or group of individuals) thoughts and experiences.

If you're selling many other products a minisite is the perfect type of website to use. It's targeted specifically at a product and uses emotive sales copy to turn your visitor into a seller.

These types of sites are widely used with digital products and courses, and are quick and easy (once you know how) to setup. It usually consists of just a few components.

If a minisite had a physical counterpart, it'd be a paper flyer. A short advert on a small piece of paper, containing all the information you need to convince you
to buy a product, and what you need to do to make the purchase. They often come through the door, are handed out on the street or are inserted into magazines and newspapers.

By using the right language in a minisite you convey your products and entice a visitor to purchase. After a bit of research you can add keywords you know are being searched for to your copy. This works towards getting good placements with search engines and therefore bringing in more traffic.

You've probably seen minisites for digital products. The thing is, minisites can be used for much more than digital products and courses. Sure, they're great there - but imagine you're running a music event. You'd generally have thousands of flyers printed for those events to distribute to your target audience.

With a minisite you can transfer that information and have a stand-alone
minisite for each of your events. You can add more emotive language and convince your customers to buy there and then from a link at the bottom of dyour minisite. You can also use the minisite to build your mailing list from visitors that don't buy, but are interested in your products.

Iain Buchanan is an Internet Marketer that has been promoting his own products online as well as helping other businesses and organisations promote online since 2004. He has released some free videos at [http://www.FreeInternetMarketingVids.com] and also suggests the minisite course that can be found at [http://www.DiscoverMinisiteSecrets.com] for anyone that is serious about making it in Internet Marketing.

Great Website Design practice

High Impact Mini Site- Website Design for your little guide will show you ....
Your website is where your business resides -- it's like the headquarter of an offline company. Hence, it is important to practise good design principles to make sure your site reaches out to the maximum number of visitors and sells to as many people as possible.

Make sure you have clear directions on the navigation of your website. The navigation menu should be uncluttered and concise so that visitors know how to navigate around your website without confusion.yes, make it's your routine activity to practice, practice, practice

Reduce the number of images on your website. They make your site load very slowly and more often than not they are very unnecessary. If you think any image is essential on your site, make sure you optimize them using image editing programs so that they have a minimum file size.

Keep your text paragraphs at a reasonable length. If a paragraph is too long, you should split it into seperate paragraphs so that the text blocks will not be too big. This is important because a block of text that is too large will deter visitors from reading your content.

Make sure your website complies to web standards at www.w3.org and make sure they are cross-browser compatible. If your website looks great in Internet Explorer but breaks horribly in Firefox and Opera, you will lose out on a lot of prospective visitors.

Avoid using scripting languages on your site unless it is absolutely necessary. Use scripting languages to handle or manipulate data, not to create visual effects on your website. Heavy scripts will slow down the loading time of your site and even crash some browsers. Also, scripts are not supported across all browsers, so some visitors might miss important information because of that.

Use CSS to style your page content because they save alot of work by styling all elements on your website in one go.

21 Hot Niche Minisite Profit Ideas

By Mani Sivasubramanian

How To Use The Power Of HOT 'In-Demand' Niches To INSTANTLY Get More New Business Than You Can Handle!

Everyone's talking about profiting from "Niche Marketing" - but no one's telling you exactly HOW to do it! Now you'll discover how to tap the incredible wealth lying hidden in hot, in-demand niches - in 21 different ways.

Idea #1 - SELL AD SPACE

When you build a website around a niche - a 'niche minisite' - you'll attract a very specific audience to it. Advertisers and marketers will pay a premium to place their ads in front of this viewership if it is targeted to their needs. Selling ad space - at much higher price than generic run-of-the-mill ad space - is a proven strategy to profit from niches.

Idea #2 - POST PAY-PER-CLICK ADS

Pay-per-Click (or PPC) ads are ones where you, the niche minisite owner, get paid whenever anyone clicks on them. By placing targeted PPC ads on your niche website, you'll find it easy to get enough clicks from visitors to make a tidy profit. Two new services make it easy for you to get started:

* Google Adsense - http://www.Google.com/adsense/
* SearchFeed - http://www.SearchFeed.com

Idea #3 - SELL BOOKS, CDs & DVDs

The Web is an information-centric medium. People reach your niche minisite in 'research mode'. And by directing them to resources offering more information, you can sell them many different products. Books, CDs, DVDs and videos are just some of the many information products you can sell to visitors - and earn a profit.

Idea #4 - SELL PICTURES AND POSTERS

If you build a niche minisite around a visually appealing theme, you could offer extra value to your visitors by providing links to places they can buy pictures or posters. Niche marketing attracts passionately enthusiastic prospects who want all they can find on a particular topic. Give it to them - and you've built a very lucrative business!

A great resource to find posters and pictures on a variety of topics is AllPosters.com

Idea #5 - BUILD YOUR LIST

You've heard it before - "The Power Is In Your LIST".

Building your own in-house list of targeted prospects becomes incredibly effective when you apply intelligent niche marketing. Offer something of interest to your audience - an ebook, a set of tips, a collection of articles, an audio or video tape, a poster, book, anything at all. Promise to give them more of the same.

In return, ask them to share their contact details - email, phone number, address. Over time, you'll build a big list of prospects, all interested in the subject of your niche minisite.

Idea #5 - GIVE AWAY SAMPLES OR TRIAL COPIES

Niche minisites are a great way to 'trial market' a new product or service. You could offer your visitors a sample or review copies of your new release, in return for feedback, a testimonial, or any other service. It's an easy, inexpensive, low risk method to test your product's impact in the marketplace.

Idea #6 - SELL YOUR OWN PRODUCT

One of the highest profit systems for niche minisite marketing is to sell your own product or service through it. Build a niche website around your product, and offer it for sale to visitors. Or focus your niche minisite around a problem, mention how your product solves it... And then sell it to them!

Idea #7 - SELL A SERVICE

Niche minisites designed around a theme can promote services - your own or someone else's. You could use a direct selling model, or a 'softer' approach where your site subtly highlights the benefits of ordering the service.

Idea #8 - SELL NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTIONS

Can you create regularly updated content which your target audience perceives to be high value? Then you can sell newsletter subscriptions to your niche minisite visitors and profit from this content.
